The Warden forces have broken through many of the defensive positions in sectors of the frontline recently captured by the Colonials, notably in the Linn of Mercy, which fell after Colonial forces failed to build sufficient defensive positions. Gains made nearly two weeks ago when Warden forces captured the frontline towns of Long Whine and Rotdust were quickly reversed as Warden forces swept aside Ulster Falls, claiming it once again. The rest of the region crumbled in quick succession, with Hardline and Crimson Gardens falling almost simultaneously. First Coin and Last Grove collapsed within hours, and Mercy's Wish was overrun shortly after. While Lathair remains in Colonial hands, it is surrounded and cut off from supply, marking the beginning of a long siege. In Callahan's Passage, a region that has already claimed nearly 500,000 lives, the Warden onslaught is forcing the Colonials to lose grip on their defenses. Colonial forces lost Cragstown and Solas a week ago and have been unable to retake these vital cities. Warden forces pushed forward and captured White Chapel shortly after. After a four-day rearmament and resupply break, the Wardens launched a fresh assault two days ago. Lochan Berth and the Procession fell quickly to massed artillery and a decisive armor strike that caught Colonial forces unprepared. Infantry followed to sweep up any remaining defenders. The Latch fell after less than 24 hours of fierce fighting, and Colonial forces were forced to retreat toward Overlook Hill. The frontlines are under serious pressure from the west, and the fall of the eastern hex of Linn of Mercy has put the region’s critical supply routes in jeopardy, with Warden scouting parties reportedly targeting supply trucks with pinpoint accuracy. Here’s the revised version with improved grammar: Loch Mor is currently another frontline region experiencing sudden victory point losses. The Colonial hold on the Tomb of the First recently fell to Warden forces in their slow march southwards. The breakthrough during the Bridge fight has put the rest of Loch Mor and the defences in King’s Cage at serious risk of becoming indefensible and vulnerable to partisan attacks. King’s Cage has remained relatively stable since the war began, though a surprise attack on the Eastknife relic base severed its only supply bridge, starving the defenders out and forcing them to fight to the bitter end. Some prisoners were taken, but Warden forces have yet to disclose their number. The sudden assaults in Callahan’s, Linn, and the fall of Eastknife have left Faranac Coast in an increasingly uncomfortable position for the Colonials. Only two roads lead into Faranac Coast from the Colonial stronghold in Westgate, leaving their supply lanes open to attack from any Warden advance parties seeking targets. This situation has been further strained by the sudden and violent fighting around the region's capital city, Jade Cove, which remains a symbol of defiance for the Colonial forces on the frontline. Long-range armoured mortar tanks have set up defensive positions on the opposite side of the bridge, relentlessly pounding the defending forces with a mixture of incendiary shells and high-explosive rounds to devastating effect. The Colonial hold on Fisherman’s Row has also collapsed after the Warden Navy opened fire on the island, killing the defenders with precise artillery strikes from their main cannons. A follow-up infantry force quickly moved in to fortify the island and rebuild the destroyed relic base. Elsewhere Colonial forces, for now, maintain a strong hold on Deadlands. There is very little to report from the region aside from some small-scale partisan assaults on logistics routes, which have, so far, yielded minimal results. Allods Bight and Reaver’s Pass are both seeing sudden Colonial advances after earlier losses. A Colonial counterattack swept north from Mercy’s Wail, supported by artillery and armoured units, pushing the invading forces back to hold them at bay. Similarly, in Reaver’s Pass, Colonial forces have destroyed the Fort Rictus relic base and begun constructing a defensive line to try and maintain their gains against the suddenly emboldened Warden forces. The Bilge relic base has changed hands several times over the last hour and remains the centre of intense fighting at the time of reporting. |
